Elections

So now the Election is Over
History in my lifetime is Made
Incredible history
a man of African descent
a man with a white Mother
raised by a Grandmother
with little in her coffer,
Educated in foreign countries
brings to us a new life
a new meaning
May we Prosper

Disaster

Has Disaster Struck?

What will these elections bring?

What further turmoil will our societies suffer?

How will it pave our journey?

Is there something WE can do to help?

Hello

Yesterday I woke up to another wonderful day of Life....
I became a 55 year old Woman

Nothing really spectacular happened or did it

I used my legs and hands
my eyes, my mouth, my nose
my heart continued beating
my brain helped me to see, smell, feel, taste and touch the
Miraculous World all around me

Friends from all over the world sent me e-greetings
Family gave me hugs
My Son always the first to say happy birthday...
My only Brother stopped by and brought me flowers
My Mom came to hug me
My Daughter showered me with little loves all day long
My granddaughter was quick to remind me all day it was MY birthday
My Friend surprised me with a visit at camp and brought cake and ice cream for everyone.. and balloons too
My choral friends under the direction of my sweetie Waylon all sang a beautiful in harmony rendition of Happy Birthday
I treated myself to a delish-E-ous piece of Birthday cake when I came home...
and whew went to bed

YES it was a Beautiful Birthday day.... and many of you all helped to make it that way

Thank you

Summer

The Blazing Sun
Now the days of heat have arrived
the days that remind us to slow down
the days that help us to be thankful for cooler weather
that we so quickly dismiss in other seasons
Now the days of zucchini and cucumber are here
the days to visit the farmers market
the days to be thankful for the food that grows in this heat
Now I am thankful for my feasts
the days of plenty
the days of retreat

Yes the Solstice gives us all we need
plenty
and rest

Well Well

I thought I'd lost you...
here you are before me in simple ways
fighting computer literacy
watching new windows open and close
attempting to keep them open
to write them
to view and send them
what life comes to
unfolding
and folding
opening and closing
here before me
moment by moment

ah......

It's a new year 2008, in my wildest dreams as a child I can't think I imagined a date past the 1900's and now.. it's another new year!

Funny how things pass so quickly, seems as a kid Christmas and Birthdays took so long to arrive. As adults it seems like they come and go so fast, one is here and the other is already here again..

Holiday shopping is year round, the Christmas decorations are up before Halloween!

What a pace.... now wonder the Glaciers are melting... they are in a hurry to.

What are we in such a hurry for?

What have we done to ourselves... ?

I am tiring of this insanity
